FL Studio 20.7.1 [build 1773] fixes alot of the PDC issues on the mixer, now theres only 1 more thing before it'll be bulletproof!
MIXER TRACK WITH PLUGIN CAUSING LATENCY
- Effect plugins that generate latency aren’t having their own parameters & mix level delay compensated
- Limiters
- EQ’s (linear phase)
- Compressors
- Convolution Reverbs (linear phase)
- plus many more
All those kinds of plugins can induce various amounts of latency and when automating parameters in those plugins you will run into timing problems alot! The longer the latency, the more out of time the sound will be. Manually shifting automation clips was the only work around, which could get quite messy if you don’t know what your doing
Why its happening
POST Latency: The parameters of those plugins are applied
PRE Latency: FL sends automation data (that is where the problem occurs)
The idea to fix this
- Automation Reading: Pre plugin operation (Plugins without latency)
- Automation Reading: Post plugin operation (Plugins with latency)
This option would probably have to go in the Controller Link window, but maybe it could be an option in the new Troubleshooting tab of the wrapper options
It’s a tricky problem to tackle, love to hear other peoples thoughts
