Thank for the tip. I did look at it, but the amount of extra work (compared to MPE) still makes it a worse candidate than using MPE in a different DAW and bouncing to audio when I'm happy with it, mostly because I do use an MPE controller for exploring ideas and rough recordings, and because I've gotten used to the workflow. But at the end of the day, with color groups and whatnot, I won't be abandoning FL anytime soon. Existing functionality (that I wasn't aware of) does the basics of what I wanted from MPE, which is the big thing.ReedIndeed wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 7:08 pmHave you looked at VFX Envelope for patcher? It let's you apply envelopes to note properties such as velocity, pitch, panning.
It's not MPE but it is something that FL has that could allow you to create more expressive compositions.
I just hope we'll eventually have a more convenient solution for recording MPE (even single-note signals, smooth approximations, etc.) and see it in the piano roll. Whatever the talented IL developers are able to figure out. Fingers crossed.
