Select multiple items why different modifier keys everywhere?

Playlist pattern list (on the left hand side): to select multiple patterns we hold down Ctrl.
Channel Rack and Playlist track selectors: to select multiple channels we hold down Shift.
Mixer: Select multiple audio channels by holding down Ctrl + Shift
Piano Roll, Playlist and envelope editor: select multiple notes, clips and envelope points, respectively, holding down Ctrl + Shift.

Just my opinion but mouse modifiers are a bit confusing. Generally, the way the Playlist pattern list works is the way most software implements item selection.

in the playlist u don't select the track header...
