Auto-save not working properly

I've been having problems with FL Studio's auto-save for a long time. I have it set to every 10 minutes as it crashes sometimes and it's a pain to lose all progress.

The problem is that it doesn't save every 10 minutes when I play a loop inside the Playlist, it only makes a copy of the project when I pause it. Why is this? Has anyone else noticed it?

I need to loop playback as I work with very dense mixes, and playbacks of 1h or more are not uncommon. At the moment I struggle with this problem.
