Well, the whole idea is that, for example:Ryota Lore wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 6:08 amOop, forgot to mention: on A/B-ing, I do that a lot too. I don't use MAGC for that, though... just the bypass button, or mixer channel mute knob (or FL plugs that allow for settings comparison). Unless something's gone over my head, I wonder how one'd use AGC for A/B-ing?
- You eq a loop with a big mid gain boost and a little dip in the low end
- if you hit the "bypass" button, your original loop might be at a lower volume overall because your eq boost gave the whole loop a greater perceived loudness, so your conclusion will be clouded by this difference in gain.
- if you hit an "auto gain" function, the perceived loudness will be the same as the original, unaffected signal, so when you hit bypass, you're truly just comparing the eq curve of each at the same perceived loudness.
- this will give you a more accurate "quick take" comparison on each eq change you make without having to change your levels manually to compensate for the perceived difference in loudness.
