It would be great to be able to provide editable alias names for the hardware IO. I would like to rename my ASIO interface I/O channels from "Mic/Instr/Line 3/4" to user friendly names like "Mic", "Piano", or "DI". Many devices have default names that are too verbose and duplicative, making legibility difficult. Being able to customize what is shown would simplify complex recording setups.
This could either be in a simple config file, or editable in the Audio settings tab.
