How to disable keyboard's default buttons?

I have looked literally everywhere for an answer to this problem, and nobody else has had this issue anywhere on the internet.
I have a roland fp-60x keyboard which I use in FL Studio as a midi controller, the way I like to compose with my FP60x is by simply recording and sending the keyboard sounds to FL Studio, and then just layer them. What's happening is, when I use the physical < and > buttons to swap between my instruments on the roland, it's literally changing what channel is selected in FL studio too. I just use an empty sample selected when I record so there's no sound, but once I've recorded one thing, using the < > buttons changes the channel to the thing I JUST recorded, and when I play, it uses the sound from the keyboard AND starts sampling the sound I just played and replays it at the different pitches that I played. It's incredibly infuriating. There's no options inside FL Studio to disable this behaviour at all for some reason, I've checked everywhere. What do I do?
