Strange issue - style of mix changes depending on what channel I have clicked

Hi there

Hoping you can help a strange issue. Its hard to describe. So I've got all my instruments routed to different tracks as one would do (ie piano goes to track1 with reverb, snares to track2 with extra stereo etc). Every track is routed back through to the master channel on which I have some extra equilization/bass and fx that affect the overall mix. If I play my whole song whist Master is selected - all the bases levels are fine, then if I select an instrument thats assigned to say Track2 - its as if the master is now off and everything is I hear changes according to track2, then if I select an instrument thats routed to track3 with all different FX, the whole song is now playing as if its through track3 (volumes all changed, drums not as loud etc), then I can select Master again and I am hearing things as they should be. What could be going on? I've picked from 10 years ago and just recently ditched my 10yrs FL Studio for this latest version, never had problems like this before. Its like I cannot now set fx or volume levels because if I select the Piano that routes to track1, the whole mix is affected with its levels etc. If I then click Master...the piano is now too low etc.

Appreciate any feedback.
Kind Regards
SD
