Understanding Tempo Changing

I've been down many youtube rabbit holes and need any help here. I have been changing the tempo of one audio clip to fit with another. Is there a simple way to view the change once you've made it. For example, I go to Edison and right click then Autodetect the bpm, which it says 107. Then I go back and hit "fit to tempo" for the project (128bpm) and the song does change tempo audibly. However, when I go back to Edison and click AutoDetect for the new tempo.... it still says 107 even though the tempo has changed. Has anyone else come across this?
