Load single plugin?

Just installed. Didn't read the manual yet, but it's very intuitive. Now it's scanning all the plugins, but I would have liked it when I could just load the plugin i want to use (like in Hermann Seib's VSTHost). For a friend noob I am looking for a very simple and intuitive host to start sound design without the hassle of learning to work with a DAW and doesn't require understanding too many intimidating menu options.
