A stereo mode would allow limiting both channels independently, resulting in a more transparent output.
Sure, you can recreate that easily in Patcher, but one plugin is better than three with a whole Control surface that has no visual feedback.

Currently limiting a left panned sound will inevitably limit also anything playing on the right channel.
