HI just wondering why entering step edit mode adds notes to piano roll instead of keeping them in the original step sequencer? It would be great if the OG step sequencer could be used more for step editing mode for melodic sequences in also keep them in key and scale without using the piano roll or graph editor (at least for note entry).
I would like to see the ability to lock the step sequencer to the root and scale used by the typing keyboard settings when entering notes in the steps (mouse or typing keyboard step editing mode)
The notes could be displayed as numbers in the boxes +1, +4 +7 etc.
Then we could adjust the notes pitch using the alt plus the mouse scroll wheel or perhaps a combo of shift plus up and down or something not used. Make good use of the arrow keys to adjust everything.
As for indicating the pitch perhaps lighter coloring the step is higher pitch and darkening the color is lower pitch? That would be kind of cool. Make the steps the color of the plugins color in the channel rack.
