Impulse Response Recorder

Use this to conveniently steal the impulse response of a plugin or plugin chain so that you can use the impulse in your favourite convolution plugins.

This tool saves you time not having to add an impulse trigger plugin and then a recorder plugin to your mixer chain separately, and then having to enable record in one and then go and play the trigger separately in the other, and then having to delete all the other added plugins involved separately.

The normal process you can see here

Just load this patch, add your desired plugin(s), save the recorded impulse response then delete the patch, job done.

The trigger and record button conveniently starts both the playback of the trigger impulse and the record process in one click instead of two.
Plus it is set to not hold down which means recording lasts for as long as you want to hold the trigger for, up to a minute max.

You need to add your chosen plugin(s) in the extra Patcher on the map tab for it to work, for convenience you should find that this area opens when you load this patch.
Once recorded, go to the Edison module in the map tab named "Impulse Recorder" to save, edit or delete the impulse.

Remember to be mindful if you want the dry impulse spike to be recorded with the wet impulse or not by turning off the dry level in the initial effect you add.

However, if any initial effect in your chain doesn't include a separate wet and dry I've provided an option to remove the direct trigger spike from the recording by mixing an inverted copy of it into the recorded signal.
For this to work as intended make sure the mix control of any initial plugin you add is set so that its output contains 100% dry signal mixed in with it.

However, be mindful that not having the dry trigger included could affect the pre delay time of the resulting impulse, but you can always control the pre delay by editing a bespoke amount of silence to the beginning of an impulse file.
