Phonons are quasiparticles (See Wikipedia). The concept of phonons was introduced in 1932 by Soviet physicist Igor Tamm. The name phonon comes from the Greek word φωνή (phonē), which translates to sound or voice, because long-wavelength phonons give rise to sound. The name is analogous to the word photon representing wave-particle duality for sound waves. Short-wavelength phonons are responsible for heat distribution.

Recent research has shown that phonons may have a non-negligible mass and be affected by gravity just as standard particles are. In particular, phonons are predicted to have a kind of negative mass and negative gravity.

With this in mind we could expect future cars with speakers pointed to the road to give them the negative gravity. Especially Ambient music at moderate volumes is expected to have the best results beause this genre produces a broader spectrum of soundwaves..
