Hugely anticipated feature for FL 21.
This is something I really hope they get right and to be honest I'm nervous just thinking about how it will be implemented. If done poorly, it's one of the reasons I would literally drop the entire daw and switch. Been waiting a long time for it and other audio recording/playlist enhancements to finally make it's way into FL 21 (fingers crossed)
The best method I've ever seen is without a doubt Logic Pro X's Vocal Comping. With small but precise automatic cross fades between each take you choose. The slider icon shows up as your mouse hovers over the audio takes and you simply click, hold and slide to select it each portion you want.
Every time you've selected certain parts of the vocal you like it automatically jumps your audio to the top and combines them all into one final take, when finished you can then simply hide all the extra takes with a simple click of the top left arrow on the main audio compiled clip.
Ableton recognized how great it was and literally followed the same method as Logic and let me tell you, it just WORKS. It's solid and crazy fast for workflow. Now I'm wondering what you guys think, do you think Image-line will follow suit?
Or will they ignore it and try their own way. I just have a lot of concerns because Image-line's past with audio related features is.. well to put it nicely not the greatest when it comes to audio workflow - literally always involves workarounds and extra steps. It's on the To-Do, but the question is HOW will it be implemented. This could make or break the feature depending on how they go about it.
Makes me nervous
Any guesses to how you think IL will implement it?
