Why doesn't cloning of a track clone routing?

Cloning an audio or instrument track routes the new track to master. This is honestly never what I want. Generally I'd clone a track for layering, or adding a new vocal wih FX and similar, in which case I always want routing e.g. to a bus, to be cloned as well. Does the current implementation make sense to anyone?
