VERSION 21 NEW! (07/05/2026)

What's new in version 21
The transition to 0 (Parking) has been smoothed
A bug in the EQ2 signal has been corrected, since the output was working erratically in the 0 position.

VERSION 20 (05/05/2026)

What's new in version 20.
This version is a substantial improvement on all previous versions.
The approach to the Doppler effect is totally different and thanks to the VFX module that replaces all the previous logic.
In this case I have focused more on the handling of the Horn than the Drum, which is something more realistic and definitive that gives character to this effect.
And finally I've smoothed out the transitions, and the control fader has been replaced by 3-position switch and brake.

One of the big problems with many modern commercial Rotary is that they try to “impress” by adding: fixed saturation, hidden compression, imposed vintage EQ, noise, exaggerated wow/flutter or guitar amp type filters, and in the end they kill exactly what you want to preserve: the original character of the instrument.
And this is especially critical, if you work a lot with: atmospheric pads, modern synthesizers, wide textures, open harmonies, delicate stereo spaces.
A rotary too “vintage guitar amp”: it encapsulates the sound, makes it small or colors it too much.
This Rotary Speaker does NOT impose a character, it only adds: movement, space, doppler, air, amplitude; that is: physics, not makeup.

In the previous versions, I tried to create the Doppler effect by adjusting the frequencies, sending the signals from the LFOs to the EQs. However, the result was rather mediocre.
In this version, I have reworked all the logic to get closer to the realism of the Rotary Speaker. This patch tries to position a sound in a two-dimensional space; right, left, front and back, in a very simple way, obviously with the balance, and also with the reverb + EQ2 + Stereo Shaper, to create the sensation of closeness and remoteness.

Test it with your PADS as well, it can generate some pretty interesting effects, but it's best to judge for yourselves, it is free. :D
