Saving preset in FL Studio itself

Hey there,
I wanted to clarify it once for all the time: Does FL Studio save and store the external plugin preset itself in a project file, even without saving this preset in a scroll-down menu of the wrapper in upper left or saving the preset in this particullar plugin menu? If so, where is stored? I'm worried, because I've reinstalled some key plugin recently, worried less about reinstalling FL Studio version (which I have also done), as you guaranteed it doesn't lose none of the personal data, but I need a confirmation.
