Hey there!
Request: make the process of replacing multiple files in the project easier. I list examples of what's lacking and what is, I would say, wrong with it as of now.
Usecase:
I made a rough mix for my student, multitracks were in wav 32b FP. Takes up a lot of space.
I transcoded them to Wavpack, which FL Studio natively supports.
However, once I remove the original wavs and leave the .wv encodes only, FL Studio doesn't really know how to act.
First, it searches around for quite a while (can I disable that, by the way?).
Then, it lists the long list of missing files, all already color-coded red (not necessarily what I want).
The worst of it: if I press Locate sample, it doesn't give me the option to choose a wavpack file at all. It's restricted to Wav files, so I don't even see them.
Manual replacing one by one does work! It's obviously not ideal, though. And I think I also can lose my Audio File settings and cuts that way, right?..
Wavpack is great for people who want to preserve multitracks. FLAC does not support 32FP. I'm very happy that you support Wavpack.
So I would be very grateful for easier bulk replace.
One of the best implementations I saw was in REAPER. It supports format replacing, and after catching one sample it looks at a folder to resolve all the replacement conflicts (which would help me instantly).
Have a good day.
Multiple samples replacement. Wavpack.
