Does anyone have any ideas why this is still happening to me?
MOTU midi express 128. Have tried ALL usb ports, the port isn't the problem
Have turned off "allow computer to turn off this device to save power" in device manager for ALL usb hubs. So it's not that it's power is going when it;s idle.
It seems to happen at random times, often after a project has been open for a while.
It makes FL hang, and then i cannot close FL down it just stays as a sort of whited out screen. Ctrl alt del quit program does not work. If i unplug the USB to the midi interrface, windows blue screens and resets. Almost every time. Sometimes it does allow FL to close.
I don't get these hangs when the midi interface is NOT plugged in.
I've gone through everything with MOTU multiple times, theyve been helpful inthe past, but they're not responding now so we hsve probably exhausted their ideas.
I may buy another midi interface to see if that stops it happening, but MIDI interfaces don't seem to exist anymore. A 20 year old M audio MIDI Sport seems to be the only alternative. Other than the modern VERY expensive ones like ESI that has too many unnecessary function and also doesn't only have ports on the back, which is where i need them for being racked.
Another idea could be to just get a simple 1 output midi interface, and then use something like a Kenton through, and route all synths etc using midi through and midi channels instead of per port. Only thing is not all synths have midi through... which is dumb
Any ideas or suggestions?
