Greetings,
I know this might need to be posted in MIDI scripting or something, but I don't think that's what is required.
So, I'm trying to use a plugin called Betelgeuse. It basically is the MIDI part of those Arranger keyboards that cost more than 4k+ new.
I thought for a moment and wondered if it was possible to use this within FL studio and turn FL studio into an Arranger Keyboard where I have complete control over the sounds playing.
Here are some screenshots of the trouble I'm having.
The first is a screenshot of the manual. This shows what MIDI ports this plugin is shooting out.
So, in theory, the plugin is sending out this MIDI info. In other DAWs (I don't want to change, I love FL!), it registers that the plugin is sending those out.
But... When I go to FL Studio, there is no way to map multiple MIDI outs from the channel rack, as far as I can tell. I even went into Patcher to see if there was a way to separate the MIDI.
But no luck.
But going into the settings and changing the MIDI output port to ANY number will start yeeting MIDI data out. But... its all the MIDI data.
As you can see, it's sending the percussive, chord, and drum channels simultaneously. As far as I can tell, there is no way to separate it.
Will I have to use an external program that tells FL Studio there is more MIDI input going on? Is this something one could implement in FL Studio?
And to preemptively answer a question, I'm not using Live mode because there is currently no way in FL Studio (That I know of) to play live and have FL generate chord progressions and bass lines AS YOU PLAY LIVE. There are plenty of ways to do it if you arrange and put the bones down to a track, but I find myself frustrated because I have way more fun sound designing and then playing the sounds I create. I tend to develop controllable and adjustable percussions, leads, basses, and kicks. It's really fun, but then I have to slog through making just one song and one vibe, I need to quickly see how the sound fits in other vibes. Using an arranger style setup within FL Studio would be... Amazing for me and my desires for music... I hope you all can help so I don't have to go into debt to buy and extremely expensive keyboard just for special MIDI output.
