mpd218 constantly sending knob data

first:
i have a constant stream of messages in the debug console similar to this

(generic controller): B0 03 01 Control Change:

the knobs of the mpd218 are constantly sending knob data, very small amounts. constantly.

has any one enountered this problem


second:
no matter how i try, i can not keep time to the metronome, or any other repeating sound to keep time while playing with the mpd218. no matter how hard i focus, the reference click seems to not keep time. and i always endup short of the beat.

any help is apreciated, ive had fl studio since i was a kid and it came free with soundblaster cards. i cant solve either issue on my own.
