I'm trying to find a way to get an endless encoder to work with global links so I can switch plugins and control a bunch of parameters right away, and without having to deal with plugin parameters jumping.
A solution would be to have the encoder in absolute mode and use pickup/takeover mode in FL, but that would defeat the benefit of an endless encoder over a regular knob.
Instead, I want to use an encoder in relative mode so it will immediately increase/decrease the value of the linked parameter, which saves you moving the encoder until it 'picks up' the parameter.
The setting that comes closest to how I want the link to work is the midi controller Mode in the global link settings(see image). When setting this to Inc, any change to a midi control will increment the value of the linked parameter(or decrement if you set the mapping formula to -Input), but you can't have both on the same link. I have tried to find a way to have it both increment and decrement with midi scripting but I haven't found a solution.
Is there a way to set this up with midi scripting or is this a missing feature?
