Volume Issues + Popping/Clicking on perfectly trimmed one-shot samples

I've been working on a glitch hop track that utilises a series of one-shot bass samples that I've created, but DirectWave doesn't seem to handle the

1) original volume

AND

2) correct tail (transient issues upon release)

Here is an example of what I am describing. When the sample is imported and played via the playlist, the volume and length remains correct, no clicking/popping

however when I import that very same sample into DirectWave, the volume is noticeably lower + there is an audible pop/click upon the key release, despite the midi exceeding the length of the sample

Interestingly, when i load the sample into a "sampler" via channel rack and adjust the volume envelope to fully hold the sample, the clicking/popping is not present.

I have experimented with different ADSR settings on DirectWave's amp + envelopes 1 & 2, but I can't for the life of me understand why DirectWave is handling audio like this. The pitch (C3) and tempo 115 bpm are identical to the corresponding project from where the samples were originally exported.

As for the volume issues, I've adjusted directwaves channel volume to full and checked that the velocity is set to 100%.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, that would be great.

Cheers
