Hi everyone,
I’d like to suggest adding a proper Hardware Insert option (or at least a dedicated plugin) that allows users to easily integrate outboard gear into the FL Studio workflow.
Right now, working with external compressors, EQs, preamps, FX units, or any other analog gear in FL Studio feels unnecessarily complicated. Many competing DAWs already have a simple and reliable “hardware insert” function, where you can route audio out of your interface, through external gear, and back into the DAW — all while compensating for latency and keeping the workflow seamless.
This is becoming a more and more popular topic among producers, engineers, and hybrid studios. Many of us are expanding beyond just “in-the-box” mixing and want to bring our analog hardware into projects without having to rely on complicated workarounds or third-party plugins. The lack of this feature makes FL Studio less attractive for people who want to move into hybrid mixing and mastering.
Why is this important?
Hybrid workflow: Producers today often combine digital precision with analog color.
Latency compensation: A proper insert tool would solve one of the biggest headaches when using outboard gear.
Competitiveness: Almost every major DAW (Ableton, Logic, Pro Tools, Cubase, Studio One, etc.) already has this function built-in.
User demand: This is a recurring topic in many communities, and it’s only going to get bigger as affordable outboard gear becomes more common.
I really believe a native Hardware Insert option (with simple routing, easy latency adjustment, and the ability to save hardware chains in templates) would take FL Studio to the next level for many of us.
Thanks for considering this — I’m sure a lot of users would be excited to finally see proper external gear support inside FL Studio.
