easy pattern extension

often in my music i will have a pattern with a number of unique instruments all doing different things.
there are times when, for example, i have a 2 bar pattern and i want it to be 4 bars, so i can add variety in the 3rd & 4th bar.
whenever i want to do this, i have to manually go in and pick out each instrument, select the entire midi pattern, ctrl+b, match it up if it doesn't start and end on the 1 (almost always), and rinse and repeat for each instrument.
this an extremely annoying process and i would love to have a native function built in to the right click menu on patterns that simply doubles each midi phrase.
if there is already a way to do this, let me know.
