Oxygen Pro 61 play button glitch

Hello,
I recently got a used Oxygen Pro 61 and I'm not quite sure if this is a hardware issue or if i configured something wrong.
When I press the play button I can see that the button press always registers in FL-Studio but often does not actually start playing/recording. Sometimes it works consistently for a while and sometimes it will just show that I pressed it in the hints panel but nothing will happen.

Could this be switch bouncing happening?

Edit:
After some more fiddling I noticed that it worked 100% reliably when I was in a menu (global/daw/clock) but as soon as I left the menu it started misbehaving again. After I changed the clock setting to external it started working reliably even outside the menu. Also switching back to internal clock didn't make it misbehave again so I guess it fixed itself somehow by changing the clock setting.

I'm gonna leave this post just for future reference in case anyone else has the same issue.
