I Just switched to Mac from Windows and to my surprise i found a audio recording alignment bug that is still NOT fixed on the latest FL26 MacOS.
Its a Highly Disurbing bug and it feels like mac users who use fl to track on vocals on big projects arent being taken seriously.
I found a user on Reddit talking about this problem 2 years ago here :
having contacted support,
but damn its still not fixed.
I am running FL Studio natively on an M5 Apple Silicon MacBook Pro using a Universal Audio Apollo x4 Thunderbolt interface. I am experiencing a persistent audio recording alignment issue unique to macOS Core Audio that does not occur on Windows ASIO systems. When working on heavy projects containing CPU-intensive plugins (like Spectrasonics Keyscape and Omnisphere), I must increase my hardware buffer size (e.g., to 512 or 1024 samples) to prevent audio crackling and maintain playable MIDI performance.
Because I am using an Apollo interface, I monitor my live vocals/instruments directly through the zero-latency UAD Console application, completely bypassing FL Studio's software monitoring (the mixer track routing to the master is unlinked). My physical performance timing is perfectly on the grid. However, FL Studio fails to automatically compensate for the hardware buffer delay during recording on macOS. The longer the buffer size is set in Audio Settings, the further down the timeline the recorded waveform is printed late on the playlist grid.
Steps to Reproduce:Set the buffer size to a high value (512 or 1024 samples) on macOS Core Audio.Monitor an external input through hardware/direct monitoring (UAD Console).
Record an audio clip into the FL Studio playlist perfectly in time with the metronome. The resulting printed waveform lands noticeably late on the grid by the exact duration of the buffer size.
Attempted Workarounds:Adjusting Playback Tracking to "Mixer" or "Hybrid" does not consistently or accurately recalculate the input offset automatically when buffer sizes fluctuate.Manually shifting the Input Delay Offset (the gray clock icon) on the individual mixer track works temporarily but is highly inefficient, as it requires manual recalculation every time the buffer size is adjusted to accommodate project load.
Request
Can this bug be reviewed by the macOS development team? Core Audio needs to strictly report and auto-compensate the hardware buffer latency during tracking so that waveforms land exactly where they were performed on the playlist grid, identical to how the Windows ASIO driver engine functions.
