NEW TO THIS

OK HERE GOES....I TRIED TO CUT AND PASTE MP3 FILES TO THE PROGRAM(PRODUCER VERSION 9) ...CAN I DO THAT TO MAKE SAMPLES OF THE SONGS I HAVE ON FILE? OR DO I HAVE TO USE SAMPLES FROM EXTERNAL DEVICES? EI. RECORDING IT FROM MICS,TUTRN TABLES ETC....
