Ghost channels across patterns

When editing a pattern in the piano roll it would be useful to see other patterns in the background. Right now you can't. You can only see notes from other channels within the same pattern, which isn't really that useful to me. What if you could drag a pattern into a "ghost these patterns" list, and have the patterns within the list visible (ghosted) in the piano roll? Maybe not the best suggestion, but that's the only one I could think of right now.
