Why not allow automation clip editing inside individual patterns?
There are ways that you can accomplish the same effect, but there would be a huge advantage to allow editing inside a pattern.
If you need further convincing I can do screenshots, but I would like to see automation clip editing like you would see in the PL editor for individual patterns.

The way I look at it is this:
There a short term (pattern long or shorter) automations and there are long term automations (cover entire parts of the song),
but it would make it easier to integrate the two.
So your filter cut-off fades in over the length of 8 patterns, then it oscillates up and down every beat and continues to do so for 12 patterns, then it fades out over 4 patterns. The portion in the middle is just cut and paste type stuff and it can become redundant to redo the same thing so many times.
