Multiple problems (mainly loading VSTs)

Hi

Recently i've been having problems with my version of FL Studio (9.02 i think - still haven't upgraded!). When i open a new project an error message appears stating something like 'Slicex has a critical error - we recommend you close the program and try again' (not noted the exact message - sorry!). Also when i try to load VSTs they appear as a 'Sampler' and thus do not work. This happens with all third party VSTs (the ones that came with FL still work except Edison) - i've checked the VST path directory and FL is routed to the correct folder, i'm really stuck as to what i can do to fix this?

Please note i have attempted system restores, resetting FL Studio, uninstalling/reinstalling FL Studio - nothing has worked.
