Does FL use more ram than it should?

I'm using EWQL Gold, and the patch-sizes don't add to how much ram FL uses, also, sometimes it uses less if I reboot it. Reloading the project isn't enough, I have to close FL altogether to free ram.

At the moment, I figure the patches I use add up to about 900mb (a little less, actually) but FL says 1462.
Can anyone explain this/help me prevent this?

Might have something to do with sample rate? Samples are 41khz I think, but I'm using 48khz...
