Harmor CPU killer??

It seems i dont use Harmor at all because if i am working on a tune for a few hours then bring Harmor into the equation for a pad sound it seem to get spikes. I am having alot of trouble with CPU in general and my cpu is only a year old i am left flabergasted onto why this is happening. Could it be the cheap fast track pro that is a few years old now. What are the advancements of Firewire? Will it mean i have to deal with CPU less can some1 explain its features?

Did you try rendering everything to audio clips...
