Piano Roll problems with EZdrummer

I'm trying to drag & drop patterns from EZdrummer into the piano roll. When I get one done & it works fine but when I try to add another pattern it overwrites the first one. Can anyone help me? Also how do you make a pattern you've put into the piano roll play without being looped? Thanks, -Derek
