How to side chain with external compressor plugins in FL 12?

I know theres a side chain feature with Fruity Limiter and there are many tutorials explaining how to enable that.

But how do I side chain if I use an external compressor plugin that has a sidechain feature? What is the routing setup like if say I just want to sidechain a kick to the bass for example?
