Before I get to the topic of the thread I would like to cover a couple points.
I wasn't sure this is the right place to ask this question but eventually the MIDI recordings will make their way into FL Studio, so I feel it's still relative.
Any suggestions for other forums? Specifically not company based, or topic based like KVR being mainly aimed at audio plug-ins but a general all around music based forum.
First places that came to mind for me are:
Though I'd ask here, as this place is really my primary. Sadly enough , but hey it's FL Studio right!
So I just want something to dump MIDI recordings during practice sessions into. So yea, dirt cheap.
No computer, no phone, no hassle, pretty much what the limited recording functionality of what a standard synthesizer keyboard can do but hopefully with a removable USB or SD.
I've always really liked the idea of Yamaha's QY series can do:

I don't even know if they can record, either way they are dated to say the least.
What a Zoom microphone can do but for MIDI instead of audio:

So, a "box" with maybe internal storage, USB I/O; for sure standard MIDI I/O, a screen, a couple buttons and a SD or USB storage port.
Did a quick search of "midi recording harware" but google is cluttered with stores, tutorials and sequencers.
Discuss how to use FL Studio
