Oscillator Harmonic Section + Spectrum Analysis

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can give advice on using an external spectrum analyzer and using it to re-create oscillator harmonics in each of the operators in Sytrus.

Analyze single cycle waveform i can see as an option to get audio into Sytrus. But a single cycle waveform doesnt sound like a entire sample.

My goal is to create electronic "stylized" versions of acoustic instrumens in Sytrus. anyone with any tips on what tools could help me would be great.

Looking at Walsh's Synthesis Cookbook - he speaks of watching a flute for example in a spectrum analyzer and taking note of where the harmonics are etc. Surely there is a smarter way than just looking?

I dont think i'd have troubles achieving a nice fluty sound - but it would be nice to hone in and hear definite differences when making a Ney, a Duduk, a chinese Dizi etc.
