i'm running into an odd problem when trying to split out samples from an audio clip - essentially "make unique as sample" appears to overwrite the previously saved "unique" file.
here are steps i take to reproduce the error:
1. record some audio into the playlist as an audio clip
2. use the playlist slice tool to chop out samples - e.g. snap to line, slice every 8 bars, delete gaps
3. for each remaining clip in the playlist...
4. click top-left to show context menu
5. select "make unique as sample"
at this point, you'll have N clips in the playlist + channel rack named something like "11_2023-01-17 12-31-17_Guitar (direct) - Part_1 #6" - note the "#N" suffix. this is incremented for each clip.
6. save the project
7. close FL Studio
8. reopen FL studio
9. re-load project
observe that all previously created clips now load the same sample file - e.g. "11_2023-01-17 12-31-17_Guitar (direct) - Part_1.wav" - note that the "#N" suffix is not used.
my FL Studio info:
FL Studio 21.0.1.2878
MacOS Ventura Version 13.1 (Build 22C65), (64bit)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9880H CPU @ 2.30GHz

- Update - Before trying anything else. Download and install the latest version of FL Studio from here. Your bug may be fixed already!
- Update plugins - If you are using 3rd party plugins. Look at crash logs for their names. Install the latest version for any you spot. See also Plugins Behaving Badly
- Simple clear explanation - Explain what you are doing, or trying to do, and exactly what is happening.
- Update macOS - Are you using AT LEAST the last version of macOS High Sierra (10.13.6). Expect some issues if you updated to a brand new Major macOS release.
- Specific information - a) FL Studio version & build number, b) what you are doing and what happens exactly, c) step-by-step instructions how reproduce the problem.
- Screenshots - Another great way to demonstrate issues. See how here. Include images using the 'Attachments' tab, at the bottom of the post edit window.
- A video - The best way of demonstrating many issues - Use QuickTime as shown here. Include videos to your post from the 'Attachments' tab, at the bottom of the post edit window.
- Use English - Google Translate your post. Short simple sentences in your original language translate best. We are happy to work this way, no need to worry.
