If we have long names for all automated parameters, the way they are "ellipsed" (ie shortened when not fully visible, in the browser, or channel rack, or playlist), would give less relevant info. That was the point I was trying to make. But thanks for doubting my ability to make sense of the code I write, I guess.

But anyway: while it's not the fastest way, it's still fairly easy to know what parameter is automated: open the automation editor and click "animate target link".

Also, fwiw: there is nothing to "fix" here, maybe something to change, but it was a deliberate choice following user feedback. So while it might best suit you, it might upset others.

I think it's not just knowing what's automated, but also the organizational aspect of tracks. Just like how things get renamed/recoloured for instrument/audio tracks, it is normal for a user to expect the effect names to be shown on the automation clips for such tracks. This way we may not even need to go to Mixer or the effect plugin to figure out what we are changing - very useful for mixes involving a lot of automation.
