MIDI help - Electric Piano

So I have recently hooked up my roland fp30x to my PC with the intention of using it as a MIDI controller.
However, whatever I play, whether it is a chopped up sample or a drum kit, it always includes the original piano key as well.
Is there a way to remove/silence it or separate the input you want?
