Love philter lfo volume?

I'm using the lfo to make the signal go from silence and back up (filter section turned off), but the problem is that the signal going in is -12 db but the lfo will make it go from silence to -6 db which is 6 db louder. How do I make it so that it won't go louder than the signal is going in? I've tried everything I can find on the plugin and searched the manual and forum but can't find anything.
