I just got a new Dell laptop today (XPS 15 9530) and I installed FL as my first port of call. I switched the audio output device to the Realtek ASIO just to see what would happen, and to my great amazement it played the demo project, even at lowest buffer with 2-3 ms reported latency. In my 10-15 years on Dell XPS computers, I have NEVER seen the Realtek ASIO driver work. I was shocked to say the least.
I like using FL ASIO when I travel because I don't want to plug my interface in and drain my power. Great on a plane. But the latency kills the joy of playing anything in live (eg with keyboard input). Now at least I have one more option to try.
Oversharing in my excitement. =)
The most miraculous thing happened - Realtek ASIO played audio!
