DirectWave sample volume

i recently purchased directwave and im enjoying its functionality very much. one issue im having though involves sample volume. in cubase sx3, if i load a .wav file directly into the cubase transport the volume of the sample is greater at 0.0db than when loaded into directwave with gain and postgain maxed. am i overlooking a volume or gain control in directwave or is this a normal phenomena and if so why? any suggestions for boosting the volume of the directwave samples to match the rest of my track built around cubase imported .wavs? Would EQ be the best route? thanks. and by the way, velocity is maxed also.
