Patcher - 'Replace device' and 'bypass'

I don't know if it's already requested:

a) It would be very useful to get the possibility to bypass an effect inside Patcher.

b) It would be a good workflow improvement if we had the chance to replace a device inside Patcher. At the moment a 'device replacing' comes with multiple mouseclicks and reorganizing the routing.

Perhaps there are already some solutions/workarounds for both situations? I couldn't find any infos in the manual.
