This is a pretty handy feature in Patcher already, but I think it could go further.
First, it would be better suited as a global option in Patcher's wrapper; having to turn it on for every new instance is a bit annoying.
Second, this would be an amazing feature to have in the mixer. Maybe even modifier key + f9 would be a nice option, so we could choose the functionality on the fly.
It would certainly help with feeling like you're wading through a sea of menus
