Only want to hear VST when composing, not the piano.

Apologies if this has been answered a million times before but I'm completely stumped and could use some help.

How do I get FL studio to only output the sound of the VST I'm using when playing through my physical keyboard and not both the VST and the piano at the same time?

I know I could just map the notes by hand on the piano roll and listen back, but I want to be able to use my piano keyboard in real time and record ideas on the go. I can use my piano plugged into my PC to capture the MIDI no problem but I can't seem to turn off the piano sound, so I get this mix of both the piano and the virtual instrument when I hit a note. I'm basically hearing two instruments at the same time which is not what I want.

I can't seem to find an answer for this anywhere and I can barely phrase the problem myself as its hard to explain but essentially, I want to USE my physical keyboard to compose music but I want to only HEAR the VST in fl studio when doing so.

How do I fix this?
