Waveshaper Post-gain Scaling Curve

Didn't know exactly where the right place to post this was so please tell me if it should go somewhere else!

What is the formula for the curve of how the post gain knob in fruity waveshaper affects volume? It's a stupid question, but I wanted to be able to crossfade between two different chains in patcher that end in waveshapers and maintain their volumes without adding a balance or love philter at the end. I'm bad at math so don't know how to guess it. Better, and more to my direct issue: what would be the formula to stick in the "mapping formula" for an automation clip mixing between the two (just adding the inverse in the control of one of them) that would preserve the sum gain throughout a whole sweep from one to the other?
