Native FL Plugin Cog Wheel

From what I've seen, this may have been asked many times, but why is there not a "Plugin/Cog" interface when you click on native FL plugins? For example - midi routing with plugins such as Scaler, Cthuhlu, Chordpotion, etc. Or any other plugin that requires an input port to a native plugin. Why is it necessary to load up an instance of Patcher to route input plugins when it would be much easier to simply click the settings icon, then designate a midi port for input? Why is this only available on 3rd party plugins? Am I missing something? Is there a simpler way to route a midi port input to a native FL plugin than loading it into patcher?
