Hello,
for my work, I need to make MIDI notes longer, so they overlap and make smoother transitions for my instrument libraries.
The problem arises with the overlap of the same notes, for example 4 notes of C.
If same sustained notes overlap, the first note is played as expected, but all other repetitions are becoming staccato (or silenced before flstudio version 2024).
In a long and complicated Melody, I need to manually select the overlapping notes and make them shorter again so they dont overlap any more.
In the playroll, there is a function under "select" -> "select overlapping notes", that mark all overlapping notes automatically.
It is a great function, but: It is selecting the wrong overlapping notes. If you have 4 notes C in a playroll and use this function, the second, third and fourth C are marked, but not the first.
If I shorten the marked notes, the first and second notes stay overlapped.
In any two overlapping notes, instead of marking the second note, it is necessary to mark always the first note, so I get all overlapping notes propper selected and are able to shorten them.
Would be great, to change the behavior of the function "select overlapping notes" or to offer a choice, which notes to select, the overlapped notes or the overlapping notes.
For better understanding, I made a video of this issue:
"Select overlapping notes" is marking wrong notes for my purpose
